Wow! We have a House! Well, part of one.

It is hard to believe that it is less than two weeks since we signed the paper, that said "GO" build us a house. Here is the progress thus far...
On Tuesday they dug the hole. On Wednesday they poured the footings. On Thursday, despite rainy weather, they were able to pour the foundation. Today they took off the forms so that the walls can dry over the weekend.

It is so exciting!!! I wish we were there to be watching it all go on. I told my mom at this pace it should be done by 60 days. She informed me things will go a lot slower after this. The big stuff just happens first, obviously, but other changes that have to take place will be much more suttle.

Either way, it is SUPER exciting for us. John and I have been married 8 years, and this will be our first house. Having it be built, makes it VERY fun.

Thanks mom and dad VERY, VERY much for keeping an eye on everything for us...and taking LOTS of pictures. We LOVE you!

That is amazing progress! Exciting. My grandparents lived in Layton for years, near the mall. I'm sure it's comforting to have your parents there checking on it.

I'm so excited for you guys. But I know that deep down you're really jealous of our old farm house rental. By the way, Jared's brother is getting married in Salt Lake in August, so I hope we can meet up for lunch or all hang out sometime!

Fun! We are in the same boat! We still be renting during tyes residency grr. Well thats okay we don't want to buy a house when we will only be there 2 years. Where are you building? In utah? It looks kinda like my parents neck of the woods is it in Layton?

Okay, so I looked at the pics closer and I am almost sure that your lot is behind my parents! I know you don't want to disclose the location on the internet, but when I look out my parents back yard I always see that same pick up and the red brick house!

apartment/condo...potato/patato what's the difference? it's still small and has no yard. don't rain on my whining parade! I really am happy for you, it looks awesome. I have a feeling I'm not getting you to come back to Oregon once you move in.

How exciting! WoW and double blessing you have parents who've built two houses there to watch over it for you! We'll look forward to coming over for a visit next time we're in Utah!
