- Sometimes the sound of my name (MOM) said by my kids makes me cringe. Usually when it is repeated over and over and over again. Does this ever get to you too?
- I think house cleaning styles are like personalities. Mine is sort of clean on our first meeting, and then after that it is pretty much what you see is what you get. Sometimes, you might catch me on a more refined day, but a better part of the time there are a few loose ends here and there, meaning my house has always got something out of place. John is more clean and perfect on the first meeting and would always like it to always LOOK that way. Always. What is yours?
- Sometimes I feel like my life is a LITTLE out of control, and I wonder if I will ever get it under control. Have you ever felt like that? Can you have a mid-life crisis at 30?
- I am a HUGE loser! By that I mean, I lose everything. I have now lost 2, count it 2 wedding rings. I lose my keys all the time. Things get misplaced and I just figure they will show up and don't get overly excited about looking for them, and then some how time passes, and they are lost....Micah's coat, Micah's scooter, new umbrella, etc. Are you a loser too?
- I like denim. When you wear two different kinds of denim, are they supposed to match? For example, A denim jacket and denim jeans. Do they gotta match, or is that too Match-e?
- THESE ARE JUST THINGS I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT, and QUESTIONS I WANTED TO ASK...IT WILL PROBABLY GET ADDED TO.

I definitely feel out of control sometimes...just picked up one room and go into one of my kids room to pick up...turn around and the 1st room is a mess again....I think our children are sometimes out to get us...watch us cringe and secretly laugh inside...we might laugh too if we saw our reactions to life...spilled cereal, muddy shoes,or toothpaste squirted on the mirror...someday we'll be laughing at our children cringing and what their kids are doing....someday
When you get your third wedding you need to insure it – bind it to your homeowners policy. That way you will have less $$$ stress when you buy your fourth. If you don’t have a mid-life crisis at least every 10 years you are either living in a bubble or on some fantastic anti-depressant. (if so what drug?!) And denim jackets went out in the late 80’s…. I am coming to Layton in July and I plan to stage a denim jacket intervention.
thank you for your sweet comment,it meant a lot to me. I should be coming up the end of may, first of June so hopefully we can hang out!
As to your denim question, the answer is - whether they match or not, you should never wear two pieces of denim at the same time. Please.
OK, as for the house, well I guess that depends. You know though, as house is meant to be lived in and what shows that better than a little mess here and there. It doesn't have to be chaos, but mess...is just life. With that said...until this last month, I would say I was right there with you. But, among several other things I've decided to change in my life, living in the constant mess was a resolution I made and have actually been somewhat keeping. You know...make the bed, keep the bathroom counters clear, sinks cleaned, dishwasher empty and sink/counter clear of dirty dishes, putting the kid's toys away at the end of the day, and my biggest...folding laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer...and PUTTING IT AWAY! I was just never good about keeping up on these things since I had kids. But, I've really been trying and let me tell you...my mood is SO much better! It helps my wonderful husband has been helping out a little more too.
About losing stuff...I don't usually lose stuff, but I don't want to say that too loud. ;) I will admit that I find it shocking that you've already lost 2 wedding rings! How does that happen exactly?! OK, I think I remember hearing the story of the first...maybe. As for the other stuff, it just makes me smile. You're a busy mom of 4, so I understand. I did recently lose a hairbow of Audrey's, but I took the house apart to find it. That's just how I am if I lose something. I have to find it!
And about the denim jacket thing. First, your friend who said denim jackets were out, I have one and I don't think they are that out. I bought mine maybe 2 years ago. But, I will say that I do think they look better if they are never worn with another piece of denim. If for some reason you just have to, I don't think they are supposed to match. :) Just my 2 cents, but I've never been known for my fashion sense!
I think the thing to remember from all your thoughts/questions is that we just have to embrace they things we have and how those things come about in our lives. Sometimes it's chaos, but wouldn't you be bored otherwise?
I love that you say you cringe when your kids say your name over and over...I was literally just telling Tyler how I can't wait for Harrison to start saying my name!!
My cleaning style is to keep things tidied up...deep cleaning is not my forte.
I SO am not a forgetful/losing type of a person. I'm pretty uptight about directions, keeping things where I know they will be, etc...to the point where it drives my hubby crazy. So, I guess we're opposites in this area.
I'm obsessed with jeans. I would wear them ALL the time if I could. WEll, jeans are my go to item if I can't wear PJ's. :)
I always love to read your "thoughts". They always make me laugh. Maybe because I relate to well. Boy I miss you!!!!
I do get tired of "Mom" when repeated and I only have 1 child. No one can ever drop by because my house will not be presentable (the way I'd have it if I knew you were coming). I often feel out of control; never enough time to make it right. I've never lost my wedding ring, but I misplace stuff all the time. About the denim, my rule: never wear a denim top with jeans. Never. Denim jackets could look cute with a skirt possibly or khakis, but never with jeans. Haven't worn one in years. "What Not to Wear" says you can wear a denim jacket with the right bottom.
