Runnin' Music!?!

One of my goals for this year is to become a runner. I need this for my body. I figure since I am done having kids, this is my body for life, and I need to get it in shape. I truly believe that running is one of the best ways to do it. But I am not a runner, or exerciser for that matter. So...

I know I have to have an amazing music track to run to. It has to be up beat, and although I fear I may end up getting out my groove thing in the middle of the street, it has got to have some rhythm and something to sing to, or it is not going to work. I wanted the black eyed peas new songs, but both swear or take the Lords name in vain, so there out.

Please help a girl out and give her the names of some good tunes to run to!!!

You are welcome to come over and see my running playlist. I am not going to lie,I do have some "questionable" songs . I always buy the non explicit versions though. I am sure there are radio edits of those black eyed peas songs. Then you don't have to have your spirit corrupted while you run =)

I think you should train for the marathon with me =) I need a running buddy!

My latest liking is running to Kelly Clarkson's new album. I even like running to her slow songs. She's great. You can peruse my "workout" list also on my ipod when I see you next.

Good for you Amy! You know…..It’s not too late to put your name in the lottery for the NYC Marathon (race is in November 2010)! I hope to be running it this year. Have done a 5K, 10K and am training for a half marathon in May. But NYC is my ultimate goal.

Love Story – Taylor Swift, All I want to Do – Sugardland, Let My Love Open The Door – Pete Townshend, I Run for Life – Melissa Ethridge, Right Back Where we Started - Maxine Nightingale, Beat Surrender – The Jam, If my Heart Had Wings – Faith Hill, Video Killed the Radio Star – The Buggles, Somebody Told Me – The Killers, 1-2-3-4 – Coolio, Womanizer – Brittney Spears, A Little Respect – Erasure, Can’t Get There From Here – REM, Like The Weather – 10,000 Maniacs, Baba O’Riely – The WHO, The Galway Girl – Steve Earle, 1234 – Feist, Hey Ya! – OutKast, The Rockefeller Skank – Fatboy Slim

One other thought… CW-X compression running tights are extraordinary. They are expensive but worth the $$$ if you tire easily or run races. In a nutshell – the compression garments reduce a runner’s use of oxygen thereby reducing energy expenditure resulting in less fatigue. Wearing these, I find that I can run an extra 30 minutes and am rarely sore. I would start out with a pair of tights and get shorts for the summer/races. These really jumpstarted my running – helped me build confidence that I can run long distances. http://tinyurl.com/y8vhvoa

I would also love to start running for all the same reasons. I just haven't figured out a time I can. When are you? We could run every other day after we get the girls off to kindergarten and switch watching each other kids...
That's why my running is just a great thought, Brooks works too late.
I also would need an ipod. Yes I'm a loser.
I laughed, b/c I can totally see you start busting a move while you're in the street:)

Amy you are awesome!!! We love anything "Black Eyed Peas", If I ever hear their songs I get the "running pit" in my stomach. I am sad you are done having kids. I want you to personally multiply and replenish the earth! Your kids are beautiful!!!

I hate running. Did you know that? But good for you! :) Not to dissuade you from your goal, but I think that weight lifting is the best way to get in shape! Grab some dumbells, do some squats, lungs, bicep curls, push ups. I love it! Okay so maybe this wasn't the most encouraging comment, but you know me, it's mostly tounge-in-cheek (mostly). love ya

YOU'VE FALLEN TO THE DARK SIDE!!!! Yeah for you and running! I'm telling you...you will end up addicted to it and the results are FAST and amazing. there is nothing like running to get yourself in shape! So excited for you! Next time you are over you can check out my i tunes. I have a few of those questionable songs on there, but there are plenty that aren't. i have a friend who listens to spanish rap because she likes the beat to run to and REALLY has no idea what they are saying so she can't be corrupted, wouldn't reccomend it, but i've never laughed harder then when she told me that!

YEAH!!!!!!!!

Oh Amy, you are going to LOVE running! It is such a great release and energizer! I am a little jealous that I will be out of running contention with these babes growing inside of me....I too like Kelly Clarkson. Avril Lavigne is just angry enough to get your blood pumping too. Also some of the songs from "Wicked" were great during the 1/2 marathon last year. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thanks for posting this. Now I have some new ideas for songs to add to my running list. You would die if you heard some of the songs on my list. ;)

I don't know how you think you need to get into shape. You look fantastic. When it gets warmer we should run together. I am a new runner myself. I'm with Lara, you would die if you heard some of the things I run to.

Way to go on the running...that is the thing I miss the most when I am pregnant! After this baby comes, it would be fun to run together! I can't pass my play list on to you....I think there are some serious swear words in there!
